What is Cloud Hosting?

Cloud Hosting is an innovative technology that uses a distributed service infrastructure. Resources such as space, processing power, and memory come from multiple virtualized servers, which are interconnected and collaborate to form the cloud.

Higher performance

With superior processing, optimized memory access, and high-performance hard drive for your site. Exceptional speed and processing for top-level performance.

Flexibility and scalability

If your site demands it, you can easily and quickly upgrade to a higher capacity plan.

Affordable and reliable

Solid performance and a reliable infrastructure without compromising quality or security.

How does cloud hosting work?

Virtualization

In this mode, resources such as space, processing power, and memory are obtained through a series of interconnected virtualized servers, working together to create what is known as the cloud.

Virtual resources

These virtual resources can be automated and distributed in the cloud for the use each business or user needs.

The Result

Once resources are virtualized in the datacenter, you can connect to the cloud from any device with Internet access.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is DNS?
  • The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the internet or a private network.

This naming system allows an IP address to be translated into a domain (and vice versa).

What DNS should I assign to my domain?
  • When you contract a service with us, you must assign our DNS to your domain for web access, FTP, and/or to use your email.

    G2K Hosting DNS are:
    • Primary DNS: NS1.G2KHOSTING.COM
    • Secondary DNS: NS2.G2KHOSTING.COM
How can I create my website if I have no experience in design or programming?
  • If you don't have any design or programming experience, don't worry, our plans come with a website builder. With this tool you can design and publish your website without the need for technical knowledge. We offer easy-to-customize templates and an intuitive interface that will guide you through the creation process.

How do I upload my website?
  • Once designed, you will need to upload it online, and for that, you will need to install an FTP client. Some of the most commonly used FTP clients include:

Remember that, depending on the control panel where your domain is hosted, you should place your site’s content in the following directories of your FTP:
For Plesk Panel: the directory is httpdocs.
For Gpanel: the directory is htdocs.

What is the difference between Domain and Subdomain?
  • A domain is your Internet address. By registering a domain, you are acquiring the exclusive right to use that web address, e.g., www.g2khosting.com.

A subdomain allows you to create a direct link to a specific section of your website, e.g., https://clientes.g2khosting.com.

In other words, a subdomain is another domain that has independent hosting from the main domain, and it is contained within the root domain.

What is an Alias?
  • An alias is a domain with virtual hosting that refers to the real domain. For example, it is used in cases where the domain is a .com and in addition, there is a .com.ar (www.g2khosting.com.ar was created as an alias of www.g2khosting.com).

This can be useful if your website plan only includes hosting for one domain or to avoid placing the same content in two different locations and unnecessarily occupying space.

It is also a way to access your web hosting with another name.

What is a database?
  • It is a space where your website data is systematically stored for later use in various web applications.

What is a web application?
  • They are pre-built web pages that allow you to easily have a site up and running in just 3 steps:

    • 1 - Upload the page to the FTP of your website.
    • 2 - Create the database.
    • 3 - Install the application using the provided setup wizard.

Some examples of web applications are:

    Blogs: WordPress

    Shopping cart systems: PrestaShop, Magento

    Forums: SMF

    Content management systems: Joomla

    Knowledge base: Plone, Wiki
